Why a Portrait?

A photograph shows what was there.
A portrait remembers what matters.

A camera captures a moment. I create something that holds meaning—refining the light, the expression, the details—and preserving what you’ll want to remember for generations.

See the Difference
A casual travel snapshot of an older couple overlapping the finished painted portrait created from their likenesses.

A Camera Sees.
A Portrait Remembers.

What a Camera Sees

  • Distracting background
  • Harsh or uneven light
  • Moments, not meaning
  • What happened to be there

What a Portrait Remembers

  • A thoughtful background
  • Flattering, natural light
  • Emotion and connection
  • What you’ll want to remember
Finished painted portrait of the girl and golden retriever, reimagined in warm natural light and a quiet garden setting.

The Difference Is Real.
Here Are Four Examples.

A portrait doesn’t copy a photograph.

It interprets a life.

You Already Have What We Need to Begin.

It could be a favorite photograph, an old snapshot, or several photographs taken years apart. Send me what you have. I’ll show you what’s possible.
